A day to relax and recuperate!

Day 3, 2 September:

Ljubljana, Slovenia

Lower and medieval Upper Town, such as the Parliament, Stone Gate, the Archbishop's Palace, and more, plus a visit to the majestic cathedral. Enter Slovenia and arrive in its elegant capital, Ljubljana. B, D.

Day 4, 3 September:


Sightseeing with a local guide includes the medieval castle, the impressive City Hall, and a visit to magnificent St. Nicholas' Cathedral. Balance of the day at leisure. B.

Day 5, 4 September:

Postojna Caves - Opatija

Enjoy an exciting visit to the spectacular Postojna Caves by mini-train. The caves were discovered in the 17th Century, and opened to the public in 1819.

Then, continue to Opatija, a famous seaside resort frequented by tourists from the mid 19th Century onwards. B, D.

Day 6, 5 September:

Excursion to Pula

A scenic drive through the Istrian Peninsula to Pula, where your local guide will show you the Triumphal Arch of the Sergi, dating back to the 1st Century, then, visit the perfectly preserved Amphitheatre and the Temple of Augustus. Return to Opatija and immerse yourself in the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. Walk along the Lungomare seaside promenade and don't forget to take pictures of the famous Maiden with the Seagull. B.

Day 7, 6 September:

Plitvice National Park - Zadar

Head inland to peaceful Plitvice and enjoy a guided walking tour of the National Park, famous for its lakes, waterfalls, and forests. Back to the coastline, and arrive at your beautifully situated hotel, surrounded by fragrant pine woods. B, D.

Day 8, 7 September:

Trogir - Split

In the morning, drive into the centre of Zadar and meet your local guide. A walking tour to the main square gives you a good impression of this city with its turbulent history, fighting off the Venetians, crusaders, and Turks over the centuries. Don't miss the Sea Organ and the Greeting to the Sun.

The next two cities are UNESCO World Heritage Sites: explore picturesque Trogir, founded by Greek colonists and a major port until Roman times, and then continue to Split, the ancient Spalato. This evening, enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant. B, D.

Day 9, 8 September:


Your local guide takes you through the labyrinth of medieval streets within the walls of Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a well-preserved fortress and a living part of the Old Town. See the Mausoleum, the Cathedral of St. Domnius, and the Temple of Jupiter, with its impressive basement halls, a recent filming location in The Game of Thrones. B.

Day 10, 9 September:

Bosnia and Herzegovina - Dubrovnik, Croatia

Follow the Dalmatian coast, heading south to Dubrovnik. Beautifully situated on a promontory jutting into the Adriatic Sea, Dubrovnik was once an independent maritime republic rivaling Venice. Enjoy a walking tour with a local guide to see the Franciscan and Dominican monasteries, and the impressive ramparts, erected during the Crusades to protect the town against land attacks. Visit the 15th Century Rector’s Palace, built in gothic style, with renaissance and baroque elements, harmoniously combined. B.

Day 12, 11 September:

Optional day trip to Mostar

Optional: After an early departure from Dubrovnik drive north along the Adriatic coastline and into Bosnia & Herzegovina and the city of Mostar. Mostar, a city which has experienced different historical development over the centuries but has remained a meeting place of cultures and religions. On arrival in the old city of Mostar, developed by the Turks as an important trade centre on the caravan route, your guide will take you across the graceful Old Bridge with its single span stone arch and to visit the colourful bazaar and the 350 year old Turkish House with its intriguing architecture. B.

Day 13, 12 September:

Optional day trip to Montenegro

Optional: An early start from Dubrovnik as you drive south into the country of Montenegro. The majestic, awe-inspiring beauty of the Bay of Kotor will leave you struggling for superlatives. The gulf of Kotor cuts deep into towering mountains creating the most dramatic setting for the walled town of Kotor and the string of villages along the edge of the water. Perhaps the only words we are left with for the Boka Kotorska are simply: it’s unmissable. The trip from Dubrovnik to Kotor will take you to photogenic medieval towns perched above their reflections in the peacock-blue waters of the bay. The landlocked bay, or simply ‘Boka’, as it’s known among locals, is bordered by scenic, serpentine roads that make it easy to explore. This Montenegro tour will take you to beautiful Perast and the small island of the church of Our Lady of the Rocks.

Korcula - Vis

Day 19, 18 September:

Vis - Bisevo - Hvar

A morning cruise to Bisevo Island’s Blue Cave, one of the most unique natural phenomena in the world. Only recently opened to the public, its silvery blue waters are a must-see.

Day 20, 19 September:

Hvar - Stari Grad

Your Hvar experience continues with an excursion around one of the world’s most stunning islands. Explore the islands small fishing villages, vineyard-covered hills, olive groves and undulating fields of rosemary and lavender (seasonal), followed by an authentic Peka lunch including wine tasting at a traditional restaurant. Day 21, 20 September:

Stari Grad - Brac - Split

Explore one of the Adriatic’s loveliest islands, Brac and the picturesque town of Bol where you can find the famous Golden Horn beach.

Afterwards your cruise continues to historic Split. With your local guide, discover the city’s historic centre built around the 4th century Diocletian’s Palace followed by a farewell dinner with traditional Klapa entertainment on board. B, D.
